Officials release more info on deadly wreck on Interstate 40 near Choctaw

CHOCTAW, OK  According to KOCO, officials have provided additional details concerning the fatal crash that occurred on Interstate 40 eastbound near Triple X Road Wednesday morning.

A suspected impaired driver lost control of their car and hit something in the roadway, disabling the vehicle around 5:25 a.m. The driver of a second vehicle could stop without hitting the disabled vehicle. A 27-year-old man driving a 1989 Honda Accord could not stop and slammed into the stopped vehicle.

The Honda Accord driver was pinned in his car for around six hours. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities arrested the first driver for DUI and driving with a suspended license.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

Motorcyclist dies following single-vehicle crash on Oklahoma 124 near Henryetta

OKFUSKEE COUNTY, OK – A motorcyclist died following a collision on Oklahoma 124, five miles south of Henryetta, Tuesday night, according to News on 6.

A 62-year-old man was riding a motorcycle north on Oklahoma 124 when he strayed off the road around 7:30 p.m.

The motorcyclist hit a rock before slamming into a fence. He was ejected from the motorcycle and landed 60 feet away from it.

First responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.

Train hits car in west Tulsa

TULSA, OK – According to News on 6, a train collided with a vehicle near West 17th Street and Southwest Boulevard early Thursday morning.

The BNSF train hit the car around 2 a.m. A BNSF worker was directing traffic, but the driver may not have seen the train. Investigators believe low visibility and driver distraction might have contributed to the collision.

First responders transported one person to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The other three people in the vehicle refused medical treatment.

Authorities have not yet determined if they are going to cite the driver. They have not arrested anyone.

Crash on Northwest 63rd Street injures at least 1 person

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – At least one person was hurt in a wreck at 4569 Northwest 63rd Street Thursday morning, according to the Response And Accident Tracker.

The incident was reported to authorities around 10:40 a.m.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.

Emergency crews respond to crash near Venice

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – According to TTN Oklahoma City, first responders were called to the scene of an accident at May Avenue and Northwest 36th Street Thursday morning.

Dispatchers received calls concerning the incident around 9:50 a.m.

Officials have not provided more information.

Auto accident disrupts traffic in northwest Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – A wreck blocked traffic at Memorial Road eastbound and Lake Hefner Parkway Thursday morning, according to TTN Oklahoma City.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 9:05 a.m.
